How to Install Custom Rims and Wheels in FiveM
· 6 min read

Custom rims give your players real personalization without touching a single vehicle model. A good rim pack adds new wheel options to the in-game tuning menu for everyone. Here's how to set one up.
How rims are added
Wheels are defined in carcols.meta and the wheel model/texture files live in a stream folder. A rim pack bundles new wheel entries and registers them so the customization menu lists them alongside the stock sets.
1. Install the rim resource
Drop the pack into resources and ensure it in server.cfg. Most quality rim packs are fully standalone — no editing of individual vehicles required.
2. Mind the load order
Rims must load so the game registers them before tuning menus query the wheel list. If new wheels don't appear, try ensuring the rim resource earlier and restart fully rather than hot-refreshing.
3. Check for conflicts
Two rim packs that claim the same wheel indices will clash, leaving wheels missing or wrong. Stick to one well-built pack rather than stacking several.
4. Test in a tuning shop
Take a car into a mod shop (or use an admin menu) and open the wheels category. Your new rims should appear in the relevant class — sport, muscle, offroad, and so on.
