How the AMG range splits up
Mercedes is the second-largest brand in the Goodara catalog, and most of what players ask for by name is an AMG. The range falls into four groups that map neatly onto roleplay roles: the fast sedans (C63, E63, the A45 and CLA 45 S), the AMG GT sports cars, the big luxury cars (S63 and the GT 63 four-door) and the SUVs led by the G63. Around those sit the tuner builds, mostly Brabus, and one hypercar.
All of these are debadged add-ons that keep their real names. The certified lore-friendly alternatives, which use the Benefactor name, are covered near the end.
C63, E63 and the compact AMGs
The C63 is the default AMG sedan and has four listings: the Mercedes-AMG C63 (W205), the C63 S, a C63 Widebody and the C63 (Darwin Pro), a tuner body kit. The W205 in the title is the generation code, the same idea as BMW's chassis codes. The older Mercedes-Benz C32 AMG is there for servers that want a 2000s car.
One size up, the E63 comes as two E63 listings and an E63 S, with two Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG listings covering the earlier generation. Below the C63, the Mercedes-AMG A45 has a standard listing and a W176-generation one, and the 2020 Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S is the four-door coupe version of the same idea. These compact cars are the affordable end of the AMG shelf and work well as a first performance car in a dealership.
AMG GT, GT R and GT Black Series
The two-door AMG GT is the sports car of the range, and the listings climb in the same order the real cars do. The 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT is the base car. The GT R is the track version and has three listings (a standard one plus 2020 and 2021 model years). The Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series is the top of the line, and the Mercedes-AMG GT (Mansory) is the tuner-house take.
For older AMG sports cars there are the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, the SL55 AMG and the SL63 AMG. At the very top, listed with the hypercars, are the Mercedes-AMG One and the Mercedes-AMG Vision Gran Turismo concept.
GT 63 four-door and S63
The GT 63 shares a name with the AMG GT but is a different car: a four-door, and the one to choose when a character needs supercar pace with room for passengers. It has five listings, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63, GT 63 (4-Door), GT 63 S, GT 63 (v2) and a TopCar-kitted GT 63.
The S63 is the limousine. It comes as the Mercedes-AMG S63, an S63 (VIP) build and the S63 Coupe, and suits chauffeur companies, club owners and anyone whose character arrives rather than drives. The Mercedes-AMG CLS53 and CLE Coupe fill the gap between the sedans and the luxury cars.
G63 and the AMG SUVs
The G63 has its own collection page, because it is the single most requested Mercedes on most servers. The catalog has the Mercedes-AMG G63 in three versions (one of them a free download at the time of writing), the G65, and the 6x6 conversion. The Mercedes-AMG GL63 and GLE53 cover the rest of the AMG SUV line. The SUV and truck guide goes through the G-Class and its Brabus builds in more detail.
Brabus builds
Brabus is the tuner most associated with Mercedes, and the catalog lists its cars under the Mercedes brand. On the sedan side there are the Brabus Rocket, the Brabus Rocket 900 and the Brabus 850, which is based on the S-Class. On the SUV side there are the Brabus 800 (G63), G700 and G900. These are the cars to keep scarce and price high: they only read as special if there are few of them on the road.
Lore-friendly alternatives: the Benefactor line
The certified lore-friendly collection covers the AMG range under the Benefactor name. For the AMG GT there are the Benefactor Schlagen STR, Schlagen STR II, Schlagen Beast and Race GT, with the HR GT6 R as the GT R stand-in and the Virtus GT as the GT Black Series. The GT 63 S four-door is covered by the Benefactor GT 63S X and the Evo 1000.
The Benefactor Veloce 63S Coupe stands in for the C 63 S Coupe, the Schafter S Coupe for the S 63 Coupe, the Schlagen SL Beast for the SL 63 and the Krieger Type II for the AMG ONE. The Dubsta Sport and Dubsta Labus Beast are the G63 stand-ins. Each is renamed and carries no real-world badges, where the debadged cars above keep the Mercedes name.
Police units, the pack and engine sounds
Several AMGs come as police cars: the Mercedes-AMG C63 S (Police), the GT 63 (Police), the GT R – Police, the AMG ONE – Police and the G63 6x6 (Police). There is also a Mercedes-AMG A45 (W177) listed as an unmarked police car.
The Mercedes-AMG Pack bundles four Mercedes-AMG add-on cars for less than buying them singly. To match the sound to the car, the catalog has AMG engine sounds including the C63's M156 6.3-litre V8, the AMG GT R's 4.0-litre V8, the SLS AMG's 6.3-litre V8 and the AMG One's V6. A sound is a separate resource assigned through the audioNameHash line in a car's vehicles.meta.
