A fuel system is a small feature with a big roleplay payoff. Suddenly cars need refueling, gas stations become destinations, and electric vehicles have a real advantage. Here's how to add one.
What a fuel script does
- Drains fuel as players drive.
- Lets them refuel (and pay) at stations or with jerry cans.
- Often supports different consumption for different vehicle types.
1. Pick a fuel resource
Choose one compatible with your framework and inventory. Many modern fuel scripts — including premium ones from our partner Glory Scripts — support custom stations and electric charging out of the box.
2. Configure consumption
Balance fuel burn so it adds texture without becoming a chore. Thirsty supercars and efficient compacts make the choice of car matter.
3. Handle electric vehicles
EVs should charge rather than refuel. If you run an electric lineup, make sure your fuel script recognizes them and routes them to chargers.
4. Test edge cases
- Out-of-fuel behavior — does the engine actually cut?
- Refueling at every station type.
- Fuel persistence when a car is stored and retrieved.
