7 Ways to Optimize Your FiveM Server's Performance

· 8 min read

A smooth server keeps players online. Most performance problems trace back to a few culprits — here's where to look first.

1. Use optimized models

Poorly made vehicles with bloated textures and no LODs are the most common cause of FPS drops. Quality, optimized resources matter more than quantity.

2. Audit your resource list

Disable anything you aren't actively using. Every running resource costs.

3. Watch your stream folder size

Huge stream assets increase load times and memory pressure. Compress where you can.

4. Keep artifacts current

Newer server builds bring real performance and stability improvements.

5. Profile with resmon

Use the built-in resource monitor to find the scripts eating your frame time.

6. Limit spawned entities

Too many persistent vehicles or props will tank a busy session — clean them up.

7. Right-size your host

CPU single-thread performance is king for FiveM. Don't under-spec it.
