How to Set Up Anti-Cheat on Your FiveM Server
· 7 min read

Nothing drives players away faster than a server full of cheaters. While no anti-cheat is bulletproof, a sensible setup stops the vast majority of script kiddies and keeps your community fair. Here's how to approach it.
How FiveM anti-cheat works
Anti-cheat resources watch for impossible events — sudden teleports, god mode, spawned weapons, blacklisted models — and act on them. They're a detection layer on top of good server practices, not a magic shield.
1. Lock down the basics first
- Keep your artifacts updated — many exploits target old builds.
- Never expose your origin or admin tools publicly.
- Restrict admin commands to real admins only.
2. Add an anti-cheat resource
Layer a dedicated anti-cheat on top. Premium, actively-maintained options — like those from our partner Glory Scripts — get updated as new exploits appear, which matters because cheats evolve constantly.
3. Tune to avoid false bans
Aggressive settings will ban legitimate players for lag spikes or quirky scripts. Start conservative, watch your logs, and tighten gradually.
4. Pair it with a whitelist
A whitelist plus a Discord bot means you know who everyone is — which makes cheaters far easier to deal with and deter.
Anti-cheat is insurance, not a substitute for good server hygiene. Layer it on a server that's already locked down and you'll rarely have a serious problem.
